1. Who we are
This website is operated by Charter System Experience S.R.L., trading as Bella Coast Charter.
2. What data we collect
We only collect personal data that you give us voluntarily, through:
- Booking and contact forms — name, email, phone number (optional), preferred dates, group size and any notes you choose to add.
- Direct correspondence — when you write to us by email, message us on WhatsApp, or phone us directly.
- Technical data — anonymous traffic statistics (browser type, approximate location, pages viewed). We use this only to keep the site working and to improve it.
We never collect special categories of data (health, religion, political views, etc.). We don't track behaviour across other websites and we don't sell your data to anyone.
3. How and why we use it
We use your data only for the purposes you contacted us for:
- To answer your enquiry and confirm a booking.
- To send you logistical information about your day at sea (meeting point, captain's name, weather updates).
- To process payments where applicable, in compliance with Italian tax regulations.
- To meet our legal obligations (invoicing, tax filings, safety records).
We do not send marketing newsletters or unsolicited messages. If we ever do, you'll have to opt in first, explicitly.
4. Legal basis for processing
Under Article 6 of the GDPR, we process your data on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract — when you book a charter or request a quote.
- Legitimate interest — to keep the website operational, prevent fraud, and improve our service.
- Legal obligation — for tax, accounting and safety records we are required to keep.
- Consent — when applicable, e.g. for non-essential cookies.
5. Sharing with third parties
We share your data only with parties who need it to deliver your booking or to comply with the law:
- The captain and the operator of the boat we assign to your charter — they need your name and contact details to coordinate the day.
- Our hosting and email providers, who process data on our behalf under written contracts and standard EU clauses.
- Public authorities, if required by Italian law (e.g. tax office, port authority, harbour master).
We do not transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area without appropriate safeguards.
6. How long we keep your data
- Booking and tax records: 10 years, as required by Italian law.
- General enquiries that don't lead to a booking: up to 24 months.
- Anonymous traffic statistics: up to 26 months.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR (EU 2016/679) and Italian law (D.Lgs. 196/2003 as amended), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected, or ask us to delete it.
- Restrict or object to processing in certain circumstances.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw any consent you've given, at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at info@bellacoastcharter.com. We'll reply within 30 days.
8. Cookies
This website uses only technical cookies necessary for it to work. We don't use profiling or third-party advertising cookies. See the Cookie Policy for the full list.
9. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least 30 days.
